One Voice Prayer Week continues, and today’s prayer theme is land.
And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1: 9-13
Our creator God loves the world that He has made. He intricately designed every aspect of it, and in turn we are intrinsically connected to the land; lives and livelihoods hinge upon the productivity of the earth. The acquisition of land is highly valued; the destruction of land is both the cause and effect of great poverty.
Take this opportunity to thank God for your land, for our land, and to pray for all those around the world who are struggling due to problems with the land around them. JDJ
